Rahmi Jened is an authority in the field of Indonesian Civil Law, Business Law, and Intellectual Property Law. She pursued her bachelor"s (1988) at Law Faculty, master"s (1998) and doctoral (2006) degrees at Postgraduate Program, Airlangga University. In 2006, not only did she graduate as a Doctor of Law with the Cum Laude Predicate, but she was also bestowed with the award of "Airlangga University Best Graduate". She has been a civil-servant lecturer at Airlangga University since 1990. She is a two-time "Airlangga Best Lecturer" Awardee, receiving the Awards in 2006 and 2007 consecutively. She went on to become a Full Law Professor at the University, inducted in 2008. At 43, she was then one of the youngest Indonesian full professors. In 2010, she was privileged to be selected as one of the 100 Indonesian High Achieving Female Researchers", an award collaboratively granted by the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection & United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). She has extensive experience in conducting wide-ranging research on Civil and Business Law, Investment dan Corporation Law, and Intellectual Property Law. Rahmi Jened has also been active in several professional organizations throughout her career as a legal academic and practitioner. She was the Secretary of Intellectual Property (IP) Clinic of Law Faculty, Airlangga University between 1998 and 2000. She was the legal and patent drafter of Airlangga"s IP Technical Service Unit, Airlangga"s IP Center from 2000 to 2007. She was appointed Ad-hoc Chief of Airlangga"s IP Center from 2007 to 2009. In her role at Airlangga"s IP Center, she assisted and represented Airlangga"s academic community to obtain intellectual property rights attainment in the form of copyright recordation letters, patent certificates, trademark certificates, and industrial design certificates. Half-sonde toothpick, monoclonal antibodies, and keloid prevention medication were inventions invented by Airlangga"s academics, for whose patent certificates were granted by DGIP Indonesia. Rahmi Jened served as Deputy Leader of Industry and Intellectual Property Certification Division, of East Java Chambers of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) from 2007 to 2012. She has been active as a member of Supervisory Boards of both, the Association of Intellectual Property Rights Teachers (APHKI) since 2010 and the Association of Civil Law Teachers (APHK) since 2012. She is also a mediator and arbitrator at the Intellectual Property Rights Arbitration and Mediation Board (BAM HKI) since 2012.
